July marked major milestones for Eskwai, including TrueCite reaching general availability, improved Library title search, a new Billing Region Selector, an expanded legal database, a partnership with the Ministry of Finance, support for the BELA Inter-Firm Moot Competition, and the selection of the inaugural Eskwai Campus Ambassadors cohort.

Kwame AI announces the inaugural Eskwai Campus Ambassadors, a nationwide cohort of law students who will promote legal AI, build campus communities, and develop leadership skills while helping shape the future of legal education in Ghana.

June marked major milestones for Eskwai, including the launch of TrueCite to improve the reliability of AI-assisted legal research, the expansion of its legal database, the rollout of Eskwai Clerk through a partnership with the Judicial Service of Ghana, new law firm partnerships, and the introduction of Eskwai Rewards and the Campus Ambassador Program to grow and support the legal community.

Eskwai Clerk is Kwame AI’s new initiative to offer Eskwai as an AI judicial assistant for judges and magistrates in Africa and beyond, starting with the Judicial Service of Ghana. All 445 judges and magistrates will have access to Eskwai for legal research, drafting rulings and judgments, and document review to enhance judicial efficiency and improve access to justice.

May brought sharper research and feedback tools to Eskwai, including smarter Find in Page search, improved Ask Kwame results with easier access to references across desktop and mobile, and a faster way to share suggestions or report issues. The month also featured continued community support through the BELA Moot Competition 2026, where Eskwai provided sponsored Pro access to 77 participants across law firms and student leadership teams.

Vals AI’s October 2025 VLAIR legal research benchmark compared Legal AI, ChatGPT, and human lawyers on 200 U.S. law questions—with human evaluators. Legal AI scored highest on accuracy (77% vs. 74% and 69%), led on authoritativeness through better citations, while lawyers still excelled on nuanced, multi-jurisdiction tasks. This piece walks through those results, the study’s strengths and blind spots, and why similar benchmarks matter beyond the U.S., including for African jurisdictions and tools like Eskwai.

April brought landing page and UX improvements with feature descriptions, demo videos, firm interviews, and scheduled lifecycle emails; 21 new cases and legislation; sponsorship of the CIMA–GIMPA Inter-Firm Moot (congratulations to Team Lex Nova); engagement at GIMPA Law School and with the Ghana Bar Association’s CLE Committee on legal AI training; an AB Lexmall & Associates firm interview; a Legaltech Lounge webinar on AI in legal workflows; and the launch of Friday With Founders for direct user feedback with the team.

In the first edition of The Memo recapping March 2026, Eskwai introduced Authority Tagging, Magic Query, and Scribe, added 493 new cases and legislation to the platform, and surpassed 10,000 users. The month also brought partnerships with Sam Okudzeto & Associates and Ghana's Legal Aid Commission, sponsorship of the GSL SRC and Philip C. Jessup Ghana championships, and leadership talks interviews on legal AI by our founders.

Eskwai Pro Bono is Kwame AI’s new initiative to support legal aid organizations in Africa and beyond, starting with the Legal Aid Commission, Ghana. Their staff will have free access to Eskwai for legal research, drafting and document review to boost the efficiency of legal aid lawyers, and expand access to justice for vulnerable people.

Eskwai sponsored Accra LawTech Hangout 2025, showcasing AI’s role in Africa’s legal future. CEO George Jojo Boateng and COO Victor Wumbor-Apin Kumbol demonstrated how Eskwai’s AI assistant transforms legal research and drafting, driving efficiency for legal professionals across the continent.

Kwame AI’s Legal AI Essentials workshop in Accra trained African legal professionals in AI-driven research and drafting using Eskwai. Featuring experts from Princeton and top law firms, the event focused on ethical AI adoption, workflow automation, and the future of legal innovation in Africa’s evolving judicial landscape.
