Today, we are happy to announce a major update to Eskwai—our platform is moving to a credits-based usage system! This new model allows you to get the most value and flexibility from your Eskwai experience, no matter your workflow.
What Are Credits?
Credits are our new, standard unit for measuring Eskwai usage. Whether you are conducting legal research, drafting contracts or reviewing documents, credits make it simple to understand and control how much you use and spend. As a rule of thumb, complex or lengthy actions require more credits, while smaller, routine actions require less.
How Do Credits Work?
Your credits are primarily consumed when you perform certain actions in Eskwai that require processing with generative AI. For example, when you submit a query on our Research, Review or Draft features. Importantly, credits are only spent during active processing—so you will not lose any credits for reviewing past results. Furthermore, if an action fails due to a technical fault on our end, all consumed credits for that activity are automatically refunded.
In addition, credits are consumed when you unlock temporary access to features which are not available on your current Eskwai plan. For example, users on the Standard or Student Plan can spend credits to temporarily download a case PDF for offline access. Features that are unlocked via credits remain temporarily accessible until the end of the current subscription.

How to Get Credits
Eskwai subscribers receive a monthly quota of credits when they purchase a plan. If you need more credits, you can:
- Upgrade to our Pro plan for a larger monthly credit package and access to advanced features
- Purchase top-up credit bundles as needed for busy periods

Do Credits Ever Expire?
We have designed our credits system to be as transparent and fair as possible. Monthly credits from subscriptions and top-up credits expire at the end of your current subscription period.
