MOTOR VEHICLES (DUPLICATE INSURANCE CERTIFICATE) ACT, 1979
AN ACT to provide for the issue of duplicate motor insurance certificates and for related matters.
1. Issue and misuse of duplicate motor insurance certificates
A person commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding twenty-five penalty units if that person
(a) obtains a duplicate certificate of insurance in respect of a motor vehicle without the permission of the Ministry responsible for Fuel, or
(b) uses or attempts to use a duplicate certificate of insurance issued in respect of a motor vehicle for the purpose of procuring anything more than the prescribed quantity of petrol to which that person is otherwise entitled in respect of that vehicle in accordance with the restrictions imposed on the sale of petrol by the Ministry responsible for Fuel and Power.
