GHANA STANDARDS (CERTIFICATION MARK) (AMENDMENT) RULES, 2019 (L.I. 2388) IN exercise of the power conferred on the Board of the Standards Authority by section 9 of the Standards Authority Act, 1973 (N.R.C.D. 173), these Rules are made this 8th day of July, 2019. Rule 8 of L.I. 662 amended The Ghana Standards (Certification Mark) Rules, 1970 (L.I. 662) is amended by the substitution for rule 8 of— "(8) Any person who (a) contravenes the provisions of rule 1 of these Rules, (b) prevents an officer authorised by the Authority to inspect any premises or examine or take samples of any goods as required under rule 4 or fails to keep any record, return or other document which he is requested to keep under these Rules or, on being requested by such officer to furnish a record, return or other document, fails so to do within the period specifies in the request, or (c) furnishes a false or incorrect record, return or document, commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of not less than one hundred penalty units and not more than five hundred penalty units or to a term of imprisonment of not less than thirty days and not more than one year or to both and in a case of a continuing offence, to a further fine of not more than fifty penalty units for each day that the contravention continues."
