(1) The organisation which, on the first day of October, nineteen hundred and fifty-seven, took the name of the Ghana Red Cross Society shall be the sole national Red Cross Society in Ghana and shall, as from the commencement of this Act, be incorporated as a body with perpetual succession and a common seal and power to hold land.
(2) The objects of the Society shall continue to be
(a) the furnishing of aid to the sick and wounded in time of war, and
(b) the improvement of health, the prevention of disease and the mitigation of suffering throughout the world without any distinction based on race, nationality, class, religion or political opinions.
