GHANA NATIONAL PLAYING FIELDS AUTHORITY ACT, 1977
AN ACT to establish the National Playing Fields Authority and to provide for related matters.
1. Establishment of National Playing Fields Authority
(1) There is hereby established a National Playing Fields Authority.
(2) The Authority is a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal and may sue and be sued in its corporate name.
(3) The Authority may purchase, hold, manage or dispose of any movable or immovable property and may enter into a contract or a transaction that is necessary for its functions.
Section 2
2. Compulsory acquisition of property
(1) Where there is a hindrance to the acquisition by the Board of property, the property may be acquired for the Authority under the State Property and Contracts Act, 1960 (C.A. 6) or under the State Lands Act, 1962 (Act 125).
(2) The Acts specified in subsection (1) shall, apply in relation to the acquisition with the modifications that are necessary to vest the property acquired in the Board and the cost of the acquisition shall be defrayed by the Board.
