GHANA ACADEMY OF ARTS AND SCIENCES ACT, 1968

(1) There is hereby established a body corporate to be known as the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences. (2) The Academy shall have perpetual succession and a common seal and may sue and be sued in its corporate name.

The objects of the Academy are to, (a) promote the study, extension and dissemination of knowledge of the arts and sciences, (b) establish and maintain proper standards of endeavour in the fields of the arts and sciences, (c) recognise outstanding contributions to the advancement of the arts and sciences in the Republic, and (d) do any other things that are conducive or incidental to the attainment of all or any of the objects of the Academy.
