The accused person was charged with manslaughter contrary to section 50 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29). The accused person has therefore been on bail from 27th November, 2024 that he was committed to stand trial in this Court until he was arraigned in this Court on 3rd March, 2025 and convicted and sentenced on 22nd July, 2025. From the date he was arraigned in this Court until he was convicted and sentenced is four months. The case did not go through jury trial because the parties opted to enter into a plea deal.
