Regulation 1

1. Declaration of an Area as a Connection Area.

(1) The Ghana Water and Sewerage Corporation referred to in these Regulations as "the Corporation", may by a notice published in the Local Government declare any area specified in the Local Government Bulletin to be a connection area. (2) Where an area is declared a connection area under sub-regulation (1) of this regulation, it shall be lawful for any person acting in that behalf and subjec three months' notice in writing to enter the area so declared for any purpose incidental to the declaration so made. (3) The Corporation may in consultation with the Town Planning Authority establish planned connection area for any area where water or sewerage connec exist before development.

2. Corporation to Take Over Sewerage System in Areas.

(1) Where an area is declared a connection area under regulation 1 of these Regulations, the Corporation may take over the operation of any private sewe system existing in the area.
