Her Ladyship Justice Cynthia Wiredu, sitting as Justice of the High Court, delivered judgment on a matrimonial petition after considering the petition, the answer, and a cross-petition. Upon evaluating the Petitioner’s evidence on record, the court found that the marriage had broken down beyond reconciliation because the Respondent had behaved unreasonably, making it untenable for the Petitioner to continue living with her as husband and wife. Applying Section 2 of the Matrimonial Causes Act 1971, Act 367, the court dissolved the marriage, canceled the marriage certificate, and declared both parties free to remarry. The court further adopted the parties’ terms of settlement filed on June 16, 2023, as part of the final judgment, binding them, and ordered each party to bear his own costs.
