Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office Act 1996 (c. 63)

(1) This Act shall apply in relation to any office established in the United Kingdom by the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region for the purposes of furthering the economic and trade interests of the Region. (2) Where an office is located outside London, this Act shall apply in relation to it only if the Secretary of State so determines. (3) The Schedule to this Act (which makes provision about privileges and immunities) shall have effect. (4) If in any proceedings a question arises whether or not a privilege or immunity applies by virtue of the Schedule to this Act, a certificate issued by the Secretary of State stating any fact relating to that question shall be conclusive evidence of that fact.
