Before the High Court, presided over by Justice Ananda J. Aikins (Mrs), the dispute was concluded by agreement rather than adjudication. The parties placed before the court their terms of settlement, filed on 15 December 2022. The court adopted those terms as the consent judgment of the parties, recording the negotiated resolution as the court’s judgment. A consent judgment reflects the parties’ voluntary compromise and ends the litigation on agreed terms, obviating the need for further trial or determination of contested issues. By adopting the filed settlement terms, the High Court recognized the parties’ accord and entered judgment accordingly, thereby giving the agreement judicial effect and concluding the proceedings under the authority of the court.
