EMMANUEL ABEIKU MAYNE EGHAN & ORS VS ACHIMOTA GOLF CLUB & ORS

A group of 39 golfers led by Emmanuel Abeikuy Mayne-Eghan sued Achimota Golf Club, its Board of Trustees, and its Management Committee on June 19, 2019. After the defendants entered conditional appearance, the parties agreed to amicably resolve their dispute and executed Terms of Settlement dated July 29, 2019. The settlement recognizes all plaintiffs as CalBank corporate membership nominees through December 31, 2019, and provides a pathway for twenty elected plaintiffs to become corporate-sponsored single members upon completing forms and paying GH¢56,000.00, each with an individual vote. The remaining nineteen plaintiffs retain corporate nominee status with a collective vote. After 2019, the twenty may renew as ordinary single members, and the nineteen may apply to be ordinary single members. The parties waived costs and asked the High Court to enter the agreement as a consent judgment enforceable without further leave. On August 14, 2019, the court examined the filed settlement and entered consent judgment in conformity with its terms, with no order as to costs.
